Route to research

Outbound: Shinjuku → Matsumoto on JR East’s Azusa; transfer at Matsumoto to ALPICO’s Kamikochi Line for Shin-Shimashima, then take the ALPICO bus to Kamikochi Bus Terminal.

Return: from Kamikochi Bus Terminal book a Matsumoto-bound connection via Shin-Shimashima, then take the Kamikochi Line to Matsumoto and the Azusa back to Shinjuku. Check the bus booking and transfer instructions for your actual departure and match the last usable bus to onward trains before leaving.
